Nightly Grades 3.14.13: Another clockwork win for San Antonio

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

Each night, Eye on Basketball brings you what you need to know about the games of the NBA. From great performances to terrible clock management, the report card evaluates and eviscerates the good, the bad and the ugly from the night that was.

Tim DuncanWhen the Mavs would climb back in, Duncan would sink a drop-hook or diving layup. It was yet another classic performance, which is starting to seem less like a throwback and more like a throw ... sideways. Wherever you throw it when it's current. Anyway, Duncan is awesome right now.
Dallas Mavericks Not a bad performance, and a good run at the end. Their inability to close has as much to do with the same problem as always, though. This team can't seem to find Dirk Nowitzki enough. And when they do, he's not quite the same Nowitzki that he has been the last few years. Good job, good effort?
Tiago SplitterIf there's a hangup on San Antonio's roster, it might be Splitter. Splitter was phenomenal against OKC but was a hot mess vs. the Mavericks. Missed shots, missed rotations, the works. He must play at a premium level in the playoffs for the Spurs to win the West.
Mike James He was good. I don't know what that does for Dallas, but he was fine. So there's that.
