VIDEO: Grizzlies' Marc Gasol uses his shoe on defense

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol scored on a jump hook in the lane, turned to run up the floor and found himself wearing just one shoe. Utah Jazz big man Derrick Favors accidentally stepped on it as Gasol was heading up the floor, and Marc stepped right out of his shoe.

After a teammate picked up the shoe and tossed it to Gasol, he continued to play defense. Favors eventually got the ball down low, and Gasol swiped around Favors' body to try to poke the ball away from behind. The funny thing about that is he used the hand holding his shoe to do so. He fouled Favors and then lobbied with officials to be allowed time to put his shoe back on and tie the laces.

If he hits the ball with his shoe ... shouldn't that be a kick ball of sorts? And, honestly, who throws a shoe?
