Video: Celtics F Paul Pierce strikes Tim Tebow pose against Hawks

The Truth took a knee.

Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce led the Celtics to a Game 2 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 36 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing 4 assists while shooting 12-for-26 in 44 minutes. All without teammates Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen, who were sidelined because of a suspension and an ankle injury, respectively.

To cap off his dominant performance, Pierce made a fourth quarter free throw and then walked to midcourt, where he struck the "Tim Tebow" pose on the Hawks logo before heading to his team's huddle.

"Tebowing" -- taking a knee to pray -- became a national craze after the NFL quarterback made a point to kneel and pray during games.

"What do you want me to say?" Pierce said afterwards. "You like to thank God, you know, for putting you in these positions. It's not pre-scripted. It just came to me."

"We expected him to come out and be aggressive offensively," Hawks coach Larry Drew said. "He got going early off the tip, got the ball, drove it to the basket. You could see very early he was going to be aggressive."

The Celtics and Hawks are now even at one game apiece. The series shifts to Boston for Game 3 on Friday night.
