Report: Knicks close to sign-and-trade agreement for Steve Nash

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

Yahoo Sports reports the Knicks have emerged as the front-runners to land Steve Nash in a sign-and-trade with Phoenix that would pay Nash between $27 million and $30 million.

There's talk the Knicks are trying to find a third team to fill in with the deal to avoid having to trade Iman Shumpert. The Suns had been receptive to a deal involving Landry Fields before Toronto agreed to terms with Fields on a massive offer sheet in an effort to sink the Knicks' plans to get Nash.
