Report: Jazz sign Randy Foye

Report: Jazz sign Randy Foye

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Jazz's backcourt is going to have a very Clipper flavor to it next season.

According to ESPN.com, the Jazz are signing guard Randy Foye to a one-year deal. Foye spent the last two seasons with the Clippers averaging a little more than 10 points per game during that time. The Clippers completed a trade for former Clipper Mo Williams a few weeks ago.

He's a 36 percent career 3-point shooter and one of the few remaining scorers left on the free agent market. The Jazz struggled converting from 3 last season, but were sixth in offensive efficiency and fourth in points per game.

Foye will be competing against guards C.J. Miles (who is a free agent) and Gordon Hayward for time in Utah's backcourt, but he also has some experience playing point guard and could serve as a backup for newly acquired Williams who Foye played with in Los Angeles.

Foye, 28, was picked seventh overall in 2006 by Minnesota and will be playing for his fourth organization in Utah.
