Steve Nash could miss at least a week with fibula fracture

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Lakers announced Saturday that Steve Nash would miss "at least" a week with a non-displaced fracture in his left fibula. That "at least" is looking like four weeks, according to the L.A. Times.

The Lakers, who are in a 1-3 hole, have already had a rough enough start to their season so losing Nash for extended time just adds injury to insult.

Nash, 38, injured the knee on Wednesday against the Trail Blazers when his left shin was accidentally kicked.

Without Nash, the Lakers turn to Steve Blake, a capable backup, and will give minutes to second-year player Darius Morris. But it's the bad news on top of the struggles that must be upsetting for the Lakers.

For any other team, you'd say for Nash to take his time and ease back. But with Mike Brown's seat warming up and blood in the water, the Lakers don't seem to have a lot of time to get things right.
