Video: Thunder's Russell Westbrook goes boom

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Russell Westbrook might not be a creative dunk-contest dunker, but if he were to enter the competition during All-Star weekend, he probably wouldn't have to be. Sometimes, it's just cooler to watch a player dunk with all of the power and ferocity he has.

That's what we saw at the end of the first half during the Charlotte Bobcats-Oklahoma City Thunder game. He drove right by Kemba Walker, exploded into the air, and decided to try to rip the rim down.

It was smart of the Bobcats' big men to not get in the way. Nobody wants to get Mozgov'd or Perkins'd or Pekovic'd. Just make a cameo in the background of the poster; don't try to be a hero.
