Hornets rookie forward Anthony Davis is expected to be sidelined for another week after suffering a stress reaction in his ankle in November.

Hornets coach Monty Williams said Sunday that the Unibrow would be out at least another week. From the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

"If I have to guess, I think he's a week away from us thinking about him ramping up his conditioning; let alone playing,'' Williams said. "So I just think it's still far off.''

Davis has missed seven games with this injury and has played in just six games this season after a concussion also limited him last month. The Hornets' defense has fallen off a cliff since Davis and Eric Gordon have gone out. Gordon has been sidelined with a knee injury and his return is not expected until late December.

The Hornets are being patient with Davis, who at least is with the team, as opposed to Gordon who has done most of his rehab in Caliornia. The Hornets need a healthy Davis, so they're going to pace themselves and not rush the No. 1 overall pick back too quickly. We'll check back in a week to see if Davis can finally shake the injuries and become a force during his rookie season.
