Pau Gasol out for third straight game as Lakers visit Thunder

Pau Gasol has missed the last two games for the Lakers, resting his knees. Make it three, as he'll sit out Friday's showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to the team.

Gasol has tendinitis in both knees and has decided to sit for a bit to try to get back to 100 percent. Gasol hasn't been close to himself this season, averaging career lows almost across the board.

Antawn Jamison has started in place of Gasol (the Lakers are 1-1 without him), and Friday's game is their biggest test yet without Gasol. The Thunder boast an extremely solid interior group, especially in Serge Ibaka who is a menace on the offensive glass.

Having Jamison in the starting five greatly weakens and already shaky Laker bench, but expect Jordan Hill to get big minutes backing up Jamison.
