Good and bad -- there's nothing like watching Nuggets center JaVale McGee. If he's not doing something bizarre and often questionable from a basketball IQ perspective, he's wowing with his athleticism. And two good examples of what McGee can bring came Friday night in the first half against the Pacers. First, against all odds, the athletic leaper went coast to coast like butter and toast. He even crossed a dude up. Not kidding.
That's Gerald Green he crossed up. That's embarrassing. But not as embarrassing as what happened to center Ian Mahinmi a little later.
That's a long way away for McGee to dunk from. Even though it's not the traditional dunk, we're seeing a lot more of those "throw the ball down through the rim" plays in the league now.
Mercy, JaVale had one of those halves.
