Kevin McHale to rejoin Rockets Saturday

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Rockets coach Kevin McHale will return to the team Saturday night, the team announced.

The team says McHale is "expected to be on the bench tonight."

The Rockets play the Dallas Mavericks in Houston. McHale will meet with the team pregame and go through standard walkthroughs leading up to the game.

McHale has been on a leave of absence since Nov. 10 to deal with a personal matter. His daughter, Sasha, died Nov. 24. The entire Rockets team and organization attended the funeral in Minnesota on Nov. 28.

Assistant Kelvin Sampson has been McHale's interim replacement in his absence, guiding the team to a 7-6 record.
