John Wall cleared to 'begin ramping up his activity level'

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Finally, a little good news for the Wizards.

After a meeting with a specialist, guard John Wall has been cleared to begin more strenuous activities.

“John's examination today showed improvement in his stress injury that will allow him to begin ramping up his activity level," Dr. David Altchek said in a statement released by the team Friday.

"There is still some irritation in the knee which we have treated over his last several visits with a series of three lubricating Synvisc injections, the last of which was given today. He will continue to be evaluated on an ongoing basis.”

Wall has missed all 19 of the Wizards' games this season because of a stress injury to his left knee. In late September he was ruled out for 8-12 weeks. It's been almost exactly 12 weeks.

As for the date of Wall's actual return, that's still unknown. But you've got to be able to practice to play, and it sounds like Wall's getting closer.

The Wizards have started the season 3-16 without Wall.
