The Sacramento Kings have apparently had enough with the attitude issues DeMarcus Cousins has displayed so far this season. After being benched for the second half of Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Cousins has been suspended "indefinitely" by the team.

From a press release issued by the Kings on Saturday:

Sacramento Kings' President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie today announced that the team has suspended center DeMarcus Cousins indefinitely for unprofessional behavior and conduct detrimental to the team.

Cousins, currently in his third NBA season, is averaging a team-high 16.6 points (.414 FGs, .200 3FGs, .769 FTs), 9.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.35 steals per game through 23 contests.

Cousins has had multiple incidents since the season began. He's been in a verbal altercation with San Antonio Spurs broadcaster Sean Elliott; alleged that a referee swore at him before being ejected from a game against the Utah Jazz; and was suspended for hitting O.J. Mayo in the groin during the Kings game against the Dallas Mavericks.

This is Cousins' third suspension of the season and the first coming from the Kings organization.

Cousins also has reportedly split with agent John Greig and hired Dan Fegan, who is known for representing high profile clients like Dwight Howard and Ricky Rubio.

Now we will see what happens with Cousins and the team. He could either learn from this experience and shape up (probably wouldn't count on that at this point) or he can cause even more problems and hope the Kings get so frustrated they trade him away.

Regardless of the road he takes, Cousins and the Kings have a lot of repairs to do to their relationship if they hope to continue with the plan of making him the team's franchise player.
