Nike has a clever new advertising campaign for Kevin Durant that has him not being the nice guy he appears to be.
And in this ad, "KD" is a wanted man for dunking. Who is this KD? Not Kevin Durant, obviously, because he's too nice. See, get it?
But maybe in a stroke of too-far-viral-marketing, Durant has taken the not-nice persona a little too far. He picked up his ninth technical foul of the season last night, putting him just seven away from a one-game suspension. His career total before this season was 12.
"I gotta shut up," Durant said about his technicals Monday night. "I'm racking 'em up, man."
Durant also was ejected for the first time in his career this season and has taken to postering more people than ever. Either the ad campaign has gone to his head, or Nike knows what it's talking about.
