The Nets announced Monday that Deron Williams will miss two games before the All-Star break due to inflammation in the ankles. From the press release:

Brooklyn Nets guard Deron Williams will miss the next two games, tonight at Indiana and Wednesday vs. Denver, due to synovitis (inflammation of ankle joint linings) in both ankles. Williams received PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment on both ankles earlier today and is expected to return to action following the All-Star break.

Williams played Sunday night in the Nets' loss to the Spurs, their second straight defeat -- and yet another in a month where they have looked as bad as they have all season. Williams has struggled with his overall health despite missing only one game this season. His averages are all well off his career marks, and he's expressed frustration with the mental direction of the team.

With two playoff teams on the schedule before the break, it's likely going to be a limp into All-Star weekend for Brooklyn. Luckily, Williams wasn't selected to the All-Star game or any of its contests, allowing him to rest up. C.J. Watson is expected to get the start in his place.
