VIDEO: Celtics' Leandro Barbosa suffers a bad injury, MRI tomorrow

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

You don't like to see any injuries, but you especially don't like to see injuries to players' legs when there isn't any contact on the play. Those typically end with months and months of healing and rehab. Boston Celtics' guard Leandro Barbosa might end up on one of those recovery plans.

Near the end of the third quarter against the Charlotte Bobcats, Barbosa drove down the left side of the floor. As he slowed down to stop, his leg buckled and you can see he's in immediate pain. He throws the pass and then slowly finds himself on the floor. The Celtics eventually foul, stop the clock, and players and training staff rush over to tend to Barbosa.

The early returns on the scuttlebutt regarding the severity of the injury aren't definitive but they also aren't encouraging.

If what Kevin Garnett is saying to the media is true, this would be the third Boston Celtic to go down with a season-ending injury since Jan. 27. The Celtics could be looking pretty quickly at bringinganother point guard or combo guard. Barbosa's injury leaves them with just Avery Bradley, Jason Terry and Courtney Lee as the only guards left on the roster.

Hopefully, Barbosa's injury won't be as bad as some fear, but it didn't look good at all. Actually, it looked like nothing happened, which makes it look even worse.
