Each night, Eye on Basketball brings you what you need to know about the games of the NBA. From great performances to terrible clock management, the report card evaluates and eviscerates the good, the bad and the ugly from the night that was.
|Paul George||The All-Star put up star numbers in Indiana's 101-77 win over Charlotte. George went for his first career triple-double -- 23 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists and was a game-high plus-28.|
|Toronto Raptors||Raptors win again? Raptors win again. That's now four straight and this one was a good one, coming over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.|
|Kawhi Leonard||Thirteen points, 10 rebounds and a game-winning 3 with 2.9 seconds left against the Cavaliers. Boom, bang, boom.|
|Dion Waiters||He hit the big shot that seemed to be a game-winner with under 10 seconds left to beat the Spurs, but then got completely lost defensively and allowed Leonard to get a clean look from 3. Ah, rookies.|
|The Celtics-Bulls game in general||If you're looking for gross, this was your game. The final score was 71-69 in favor of Boston. The Celtics scored eight points in the third quarter ... and won. Why? Because the Bulls scored only 13. Check this: The teams combined for 21 points on 10-of-42 shooting (23.8 percent) in that third quarter. Combining the second and third quarters the Celtics scored just 19 total points. So gross. But it was at least close.|
|Rudy Gay and Carmelo Anthony's offense||Maybe you could just say they played great defense on each other, or maybe they were both horrifically off. Gay went just 4 for 21 for 11 points and Melo was 5 for 24 for 12. That's 9 of 45 for 23 points. Yuck.|
|Portland Trail Blazers||Just a pathetic showing against the Hornets. The Blazers got whipped 99-63, with New Orleans missing Eric Gordon. Can't do that if you're a team fighting for that eighth playoff spot.|
