After returning to New York City to have the fluid in the back of his injured knee drained, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony could be back with his team in time for Sunday's road game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

From ESPN New York:

Carmelo Anthony, who had a soft tissue fluid collection removed from the back of his right knee on Thursday, is expected to rejoin the New York Knicks in Los Angeles in preparation for their game against the Clippers on Sunday, according to the Knicks.

The Knicks said that Anthony and Tyson Chandler(left knee contusion) are both questionable for Sunday afternoon's game at 3:30 p.m. There is no status yet on Kenyon Martin, who suffered a knee bone contusion in the Knicks' loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night.

Melo left the team after the embarrassing loss at Denver on Wednesday to get treatment on the knee. He missed the Knicks' loss the next night in Portland as Raymond Felton was unable to get his revenge on his old team and J.R. Smith's 33-point effort off the bench wasn't enough to get the Knicks the road victory.

New York could really use Anthony to play against the Clippers on Sunday and play well. They're 0-3 on their West Coast road trip with two games remaining (against the Clippers and the Jazz) before they head back to Madison Square Garden for a game against the Orlando Magic.
