The Pistons have been floundering. They've now lost eight straight games. But they'll get an emotional shot in the arm Monday night.
After missing the last six games to be with his wife, who is suffering from an undisclosed illness, coach Lawrence Frank will rejoin the team Monday night when the Pistons play the Brooklyn Nets.
"I always talk about 'You have your family, your faith and you have basketball.' This is doing what we do, and we all love it, so it's great to be around here," Frank said at shootaround Monday morning, via the Detroit Free-Press. "It keeps your mind focused on the task at hand. There's a great sense of responsibility to those guys.
"There's always a part of you, when you are not here, that you are letting a group down, letting an organization down. It's good to be back here."
Frank's wife underwent surgery for the illness and is recovering.
