Magic's Arron Afflalo done for season after hamstring injury

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Magic aren't playing for anything other than pride (and lottery balls) the rest of this season, but they'll have to finish things out without probably their best player.

Guard Arron Afflalo is done for the season after straining his right hamstring Friday against the Thunder, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The Magic only have 12 games remaining so "done for the season" sounds harsh, but it's really just that he's out four-to-six weeks.

With Afflalo out, the Magic will turn to younger players like Doron Lamb, E'Twuan Moore and DeQuan Jones for minutes, giving them needed playing time. And it also might mean the 18-52 Magic could slide a little bit deeper and end up with more lottery balls than the 16-52 Bobcats.

Afflalo joined the Magic prior to the season as the centerpiece for Orlando in the four-team Dwight Howard trade.

Afflalo, 27, is averaging a team-high 16.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 64 games this season.
