VIDEO: OKC fan hits $20,000 halfcourt shot, Durant tackles him

By Royce Young | NBA writer

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Kevin Durant has been a step behind LeBron James in a lot of things. Twice for MVP, once for an NBA championship and currently for No. 2 in most minds for best player in the world.

Another thing: reacting to halfcourt shots made by fans for money.

Back in January, LeBron tackled a Heat fan who sank a halfcourter for $75,000. Sunday, Durant did the same to a fan who made one in Oklahoma City for $20,000.

The fan, Justin Dougherty, nailed his halfcourter and ran around like a complete lunatic. After hugging his wife, Dougherty ran back to the floor and motioned to Durant to come out and celebrate with him. And Durant, being the nice guy that he is, obliged with a LeBron-esque tackle.

“He called me out there and I'm glad he made it," Durant said. "When it left his hands it looked like it was short, but it went straight in. I was happy for him, and then I turned around and he was calling me over so I had to run out there.”

We're glad you did, KD. Who cares if LeBron did it first. Doesn't make it any less of an awesome moment.
