The whole propose-on-the-jumbotron-at-a-ballgame thing is pretty played out, so one Orlando Magic fan put his own twist on it.
During the game against the Heat on Monday, using a halfcourt shot for money as a decoy, the fan waited for his girlfriend to attempt the shot, only to then cancel her heartbreak of missing out with an engagement ring. Aww.
(Favorite part: When she gets told to look behind her and she's so oblivious to the scam that she doesn't see her now-fiance RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. Instead she winks and gives a thumbs up. Terrific.)
Like Dan Devine of Ball Don't Lie notes though, what if by some miracle of God she made the shot? She thinks she's shooting for money and then all she gets is this stupid ring? And then LeBron probably would've been so excited that he would've run out and tackled her. Talk about your all-time backfires.
Lucky for Romeo that didn't happen.
