Asik fined $5,000 for flopping; Gallinari warned

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Add a second-time offender and a newcomer to this season's floppers list.

The league announced the Rockets' Omer Asik has been fined $5,000 for a second flopping offense, with the Nuggets' Danilo Gallinari getting hit with a warning (first offense).

Like his first one three months ago, Asik's flop came against the Spurs on March 24. On the play, Asik was guarding Tim Duncan and, on minimal contact, exaggerated a small push. Asik flailed his arms, threw his head back but did earn an offensive foul call on Duncan.

A third flop for Asik will earn him a $10,000 fine.

Gallinari's flop came against the Hornets on March 25. His is of the hilarious variety, as Gallinari takes no contact at all but still tries to sell a charge on Robin Lopez. Gallinari extends his arms and then throws his body backwards. The officials weren't fooled and didn't blow a whistle on the play.

Gallinari's next flop will cost him $5,000.
