LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Mario Chalmers out vs. Spurs Sunday

Get excited for the Sunday night game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat! You have the two best teams in the NBA, in terms of record, squaring off in what could potentially decide the tiebreaker for which team gets homecourt advantage if they meet in the 2013 NBA Finals. You have Gregg Popovich matching his basketball brilliance against the defensive stylings of Erik Spoelstra.

And the star power of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will square off against the Spurs' big three of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. Between the two sets of stars squaring off and the Spurs' role players against the Heat's role players, we should be in for quite a treat.

Except there's one problem with Sunday night's game:

If I had bet money on which player would have sat out this game to catch the new episode of Game of Thrones, it definitely would have been Duncan over James, Wade and Chalmers. After all, Duncan has a wizard tattoo.

So, instead of a super-cool, regular-season matchup between the Heat and Spurs, we get to see a preview of potential garbage time if they meet up in The Finals. I feel like I've seen this story before, except it was the Spurs not playing guys and sending them home to miss the event completely.

We'll wait and see if Miami gets fined like the Spurs did, but I'm guessing it won't.
