Eye on Basketball Podcast: Flow of the 50-point game

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Matt Moore joins me today to talk about the incredible action from Tuesday night. It started off with the New York Knicks defeating the Miami Heat (sans LeBron James and Dwyane Wade) thanks to a 50-point night by Carmelo Anthony. What was so unique about Anthony's 50-point game? Is that something you live with if you're Miami, or do you try to change it up? And was that a great win for the Knicks, even without Miami's two best players?

Shaquille O'Neal's jersey retirement ceremony with the Los Angeles Lakers was a fun moment on a big night for the Lake Show. How awkward were the "We want Phil!" chants from the crowd? Was Kobe Bryant's video as great as his triple-double in the game? Was Shaq his lovable self once again? And did the Lakers' win over the Dallas Mavericks eliminate the Mavs from playoff contention?

We discuss all of that, plus Mike Rice, preview Wednesday night's game, and I finally give my review of the movie Live! after finally finishing it.
