VIDEO: The 'dirty' play Mark Jackson was talking about on Stephen Curry

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Mark Jackson sounded off in his postgame presser conference following the Warriors' Game 5 loss to the Nuggets, accusing Denver of "dirty" basketball. And even went as far to say the Nuggets "tried to send hit men" at Curry.

"I'm not going to get into specifics. You can take a look at the game. The screen on Curry by the foul line on a shot at his ankle clearly. That can't be debated," Jackson said. "I've got inside information that some people don't like that brand of basketball. And they clearly didn't co-sign it. So they wanted to let me know that they had no part in what was taking place. Let the best team win, and with the exception of going down with a freak injury, let everybody leave out of here healthy. That's not good basketball."

Curry also joked in his postgame availability that the Nuggets seemed to have "put out a hit" on him. Considering he's been completely torching them the past four games, the Nuggets obviously took shutting him down personally.

TNT came up with the play above as the one Jackson was likely referencing and it seems pretty obvious that Kenneth Faried kicks his foot out as Curry as he's running through the paint. Seeing as Curry's ankles have been a major problem for him throughout his career, it does seem like a fairly obvious cheap shot.

But Faried told reporters it was basically an eye-for-an-eye.

"They play dirty every night," he said. "They have targeted me."

Whatever the intention was, the Nuggets clearly played with a different edge in Game 5, using a much tougher and more physical approach in defending Golden State's high powered attack. Curry struggled, scoring just 15 points on 7-19 shooting, including 1-7 from 3.

Whether it was intentionally dirty or not, it's hard to really know. The Nuggets say no. Jackson says he has sources that say yes. The video isn't exactly conclusive.
