MRI shows no structural damage for Shumpert

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Iman Shumpert didn't practice on Tuesday, sitting out because of a problem with his surgically repaired left knee. A specialist was called in to examine that knee, and everything is A-OK for the Knicks' wingman.

The team announced late Tuesday that an MRI showed no structural damage and that Shumpert is playing Tuesday night in Game 4.

Dr. Answorth Allen flew to Indiana to examine Shumpert earlier in the day. He performed Shumpert's surgery last May. Shumpert tore his ACL in the Knicks opening-round playoff series and returned right at the eight-month mark in his timetable.

In Game 4, Shumpert received ice treatment on his knee at almost all times while resting on the bench.

Shumpert is averaging 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in the playoffs. The Pacers lead the series 2-1.
