Eye on Basketball Podcast: Time for the Conference Finals

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

I'm joined by Matt Moore, who is in San Antonio to cover the Western Conference Finals between the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs. As Matt drives through Texas, he helps us break down the series he's there to cover. After a dominant Game 1 performance by the Spurs, where do the Grizzlies stand with what they need to do defensively? Is the defense overmatched by the unselfish style of the Spurs or are there adjustments they can make and plan to make in Game 2? And is there a way for them to counter what the Spurs do with guys like Quincy Pondexter and Jerryd Bayless stepping up?

Then we have the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, which I will head to Miami to cover for Game 1 and 2. Do the Pacers actually have a chance against the Heat, who are the prohibitive favorites in this series? Can the game be won/lost on the boards? Is Paul George capable of slowing down LeBron James? Will the Heat's shooters be able to find open shots against a stifling Pacers perimeter defense? Are the Heat big enough to contend with the Pacers inside?

We discuss all of that, plus talk about the collapse of the New York Knicks and the likelihood of Matt getting lost forever in the AT&T Center.
