VIDEO: Grizzlies miss seven straight layups in one possession

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Did you miss the first half of Game 2 between the Spurs and Grizzlies? Fear not, because one possession sums it all up very nicely.

Late in the second quarter as the Spurs were on one of their very Spurs-y runs, the Grizzlies did what they do. They went to the paint and tried to force-feed the ball into the basket.

Tony Allen was blocked. Then Allen missed an easy one. Zach Randolph and Allen collectively missed a tip-in. Randolph got it back again and couldn't get the ball on the rim. Randolph got it again and couldn't hit a reverse on the other side of the rim. Tony Wroten missed a putback and finally, another putback.

All in all, seven misses on one possession. In the first half, the Grizzlies shot 12-47 (25.5 percent). They missed 13 shots to finish the half as the Spurs finished on a 13-1 run.

It's not going well for the Grizzlies.
