While Nike athletes are well represented in the 2013 NBA Finals, Jordan Brand won't exactly have a lot of sponsored athletes to show off their gear when the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs battle each other for the championship. Ray Allen and Juwan Howard are the only official sponsored athletes by Jordan Brand. We don't know if Howard will be active for these games yet, but Allen certainly will be setting his feet behind the 3-point line plenty in this series.
Jordan Brand is giving Ray Allen plenty of options for Air Jordan XX8s colorways when he laces and zips them up as he tries to help the Heat win their second straight title and get the second ring for his Hall of Fame career. He'll have two options for both home and road games in this series. From NikeInc.com:
As Jordan Brand athlete Ray Allen gears up for the pro basketball finals, fans can expect to see some championship-inspired footwear on the court. Jordan Brand has laced Ray with team-colored player exclusives with gold accents for both home and away games.
Allen will have several options of the Air Jordan XX8 to choose from at home and on the road. On the home court, he can choose between White/Black/University Gold or White/Gym Red/University Gold colorways. On the road, the options are Black/Gold and Gym Red/Gold; both include a fractal Elephant Print on the upper. The home versions feature Allen's logo on the inside of the shroud, while the away shoes features his logo on the tongue. The AIR JORDAN XX8 boasts an ultra-modern stealth design for elite performance, with more technological advances than any AIR JORDAN to date.
For Thursday night's Game 1, the White/Gym Red/University Gold is probably the best options to fit in with the team's colors on the court, but the White/Black/University Gold seem like the best ones to me.
Game 1 between the Heat and Spurs will begin at 9 p.m. ET.
