Report: Magic shopping the No. 2 pick

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The top two picks of the NBA Draft could be available to the highest bidder.

The Cavaliers are reportedly shopping the No. 1 overall pick and now joining them according to the Orlando Sentinel are the Magic, who own the No. 2 pick. According to the report, the Magic have fielded a number of calls from interested parties already.

In CBSSports.com's mock drafts, Gary Parrish has the Magic selecting point guard Trey Burke with Matt Moore giving the Magic shooting guard Ben McLemore.

A lot of people around the league believe this draft is a little on the weak side, and maybe nothing illustrates that more than these picks being available. There's really no sure thing at the top and teams are angling to move down and possibly bring in more assets or a veteran player to help.

So, who could be interested? The likely No. 1 overall pick still seems to be Nerlens Noel and behind him, the popular players teams might be keen on moving up for are Victor Oladipo, McLemore and Otto Porter.

One team to keep an eye on could be the Oklahoma City Thunder who own the No. 12 and 29 picks in the draft along with a couple young assets in Jeremy Lamb, Reggie Jackson and Perry Jones III. The Thunder were interested in dealing James Harden around draft time last year to select Bradley Beal and McLemore is a similar kind of player.

But just because the Magic shop the doesn't mean they'll find a suitor. They need talent as much as anyone and whether it's Burke, McLemore or someone else, they are trying to rebuild after trading Dwight Howard. Even in a perceived weak draft, the No. 2 pick has a ton of value with the potential to select a very good young player.

The Magic are going to get some offers, but in the end, it probably won't amount to anything getting done. It's pretty gutsy to move a pick in the top three and unless it's something Orlando just can't refuse, they'll probably hang on to it.
