Amar'e Stoudemire in talks to join group to purchase Israeli basketball club Hapoel Jerusalem

New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire is continuing to explore his Jewish roots and his business opportunities, it seems. Stoudemire is in talks to join a group purchasing Israeli basketball club Hapoel Jerusalem, the Jerusalem Post reports.

Stoudemire tweeted about his excitement in the venture this week, as did the leader of the group, Ori Allon. Stoudemire spent a portion of the 2010 offseason exploring his Jewish roots in Israel. And has adopted more and more of the culture into his life.

Hapoel was swept from the semifinals this past season.
