Reports: Martell Webster signs four-year deal with Wizards

The Washington Wizards will re-sign forward Martell Webster to a multiyear deal, according to multiple reports.

The eight-year vet will reportedly sign for the full mid-level exception, four years worth $22 million, according to Yahoo Sports.

Webster was taken sixth overall in 2005 out of high school by the Trail Blazers and never seemed to realize his potential. Recently, he has found an identity as a quality defender, spot-up shooter and high energy transition player.

The Wizards are thin at the position, despite drafting Otto Porter third overall. Webster will provide depth and allow Porter a little more time to develop and learn.

Webster, 26, had his best season yet in 2012-13, averaging 11.4 points and 3.9 rebounds while playing very stout defense.
