Reports: Spurs agree to two-year deal with Marco Belinelli

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The NBA's leader in international players is adding another.

According to multiple reports, the Spurs have agreed to a two-year deal with guard Marco Belinelli. The deal is for a total of $6 million, according to Yahoo Sports.

Belinelli's signing brings into question the future of guard Gary Neal, who is a restricted free agent. Neal has been a very productive bench piece for the Spurs. But with Belinelli's addition, it appears the Spurs might be preparing for Neal to sign a big offer sheet somewhere else that they're unable to match.

The Spurs recently re-signed Tiago Splitter to a four-year, $36 million deal and Manu Ginobili to a two-year, $14 million deal. The addition of Belinelli doesn't necessarily signal the end for Neal, as the Spurs can match any offer that he gets, but it has at least added bench insurance.

Playing for the Bulls last season, Belinelli, 27, averaged 9.6 points and 2.0 assists while shooting just 39.5 percent from the field in 73 games.
