VIDEO: Jason Kidd gets a technical in first game as coach

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Hey, Jason Kidd is new at this.

Coaching his very first game Sunday afternoon as his Nets played the Pistons in the Orlando Summer League, Kidd was hit with a technical foul late in the fourth quarter.

Kidd argued a call a little too fervently and was hit with the extra-rare Summer League tech. As the announcer asked, do you get fined for a technical in Summer League? And how many does it take to get a suspension?

It's a little unusual for a head coach to serve as his team's Summer League coach, but Kidd is obviously trying to get a feel for commanding a bench, handling subs, coaching a team and ... dealing with officials.
