Report: Mavericks agree to sign Wayne Ellington to two-year deal

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Mavericks are revamping their backcourt and to possibly complete it, they're adding another shooting guard.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Mavs have agreed to terms with guard Wayne Ellington on a two-year deal worth $5 million.

The Mavs are transitioning from a backcourt of Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo to one centered around Jose Calderon and Devin Harris, and now Ellington who will provide depth and perimeter shooting.

Ellington, 25, averaged 7.9 points and shot nearly 40 percent from 3 splitting the season between Memphis and Cleveland. With the Cavs, Ellington averaged 10.4 points in 38 games, with 17 starts, possibly revealing what he's capable of with extended time on the floor.
