Kyrie Irving is on the cover of 'NBA Live 14'

Uncle Drew is the face of NBA Live 14.

EA Sports announced Thursday that Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving is the cover athlete to this year's title, the first game the company will release in four years.

"I'm so proud to be the face of this franchise as it makes its much-anticipated return,” Irving said in an EA Sports statement. “I've been on the court with the development team and I've seen first-hand some of the amazing things EA Sports is doing with NBA Live 14. The fans are going to love it."

EA is attempting to unseat NBA 2K, which has had a vice grip on basketball gaming for quite a while now. And ironically enough, their cover athlete this year? LeBron James. Irving is supposed to be the player that makes Cleveland forget about LeBron. EA Sports is hoping he can do the same to the 2K monster.
