Grizzlies owner Robert Pera to go one-on-one against Tony Allen

Grizzlies owner Robert Pera faced some criticism last year for being largely absent and invisible after purchasing the team and installing a new front office. But if fans wanted Pera to be a more visible presence with the team, they're getting their wish on Saturday. Pera is set to face Grizzlies guard Tony Allen in a game of one-on-one with $100,000 up for charity, and Zach Randolph as the referee.

Pera's best shot here is to constantly post-up and take turnarounds to protect the ball against Allen's ball swipe, and defensively, let him get as much of a head start as possible. The faster Allen goes, the more likely he is to get out of control.

It's good to see Pera becoming more of a visible face with the team, especially after signing off on the Rudy Gay trade and the decision not to retain Lionel Hollins this offseason. Having a young, vigorous owner can only help the league and the team in Memphis.
