Kobe Bryant has never been known to parse his words, especially in the latter half of his career. On Lakers Media Day Saturday, Bryant weighed in on how he feels about how the Dwight Howard situation worked out.

Yup, that's Kobe.

Howard signed with the Rockets on July 5th after meeting with the Lakers last among all his suitors. Bryant reportedly challenged the big man in the meeting, telling Howard that he needed Bryant as much if not more than Bryant needed him. That capped a year filled with rumors about their troubled relationship. Howard reportedly demanded in the meeting that Bryant either be waived using the amnesty clause or "muzzled."

Bryant maintained that the Lakers' goal this season is a championship. He also said that the team had addressed its perimeter needs with its offseason signing of players like Nick Young and Jordan Farmar.

Bryant is saying what you knew he would say. No matter how frustrated he was with Howard this year, he'd rather have him in gold and purple than red and yellow. But he has a one-track mind, and that track leads to two more titles. But don't mistake this for the end of the drama. This whole year is going to be a comparison of Bryant's Lakers and Dwight's Rockets.

The Lakers first play the Rockets November 7th in Houston.
