Ethan Sherwood Strauss returns as our guest for Friday's episode and we discuss a wide array of topics. First off, Ethan is starting to wonder if Sam Presti of the Oklahoma City Thunder is getting enough criticism for the construction of the current roster. Have we made a big enough deal out of the James Harden trade as we get further and further away? Are we sure that Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant will be enough for them, especially with Westbrook's knee injury? Is it possible for Jeremy Lamb and Steven Adams to make that trade look better in retrospect?
Determining a player's value is so tricky and it's even trickier when you try to figure out if that value makes them the Most Valuable Player. The Steve Nash MVP awards are typically used as evidence of poor narratives ruling the MVP award but did he actually deserve the awards or at least a partial share of it? Is the 2011 Derrick Rose MVP award fitting into this narrative bashing because he didn't deserve it or because in retrospect LeBron James deserved it so much?
We discuss all of this, plus The Decision 2.0, players shedding weight, and much more.
