Cavaliers rookie first overall pick Anthony Bennett had gotten off to a rough start. He's been battling conditioning issues coming off of shoulder surgery, and was 2-12 in his first preseason game. His second preseason game started off similarly rough.
And then, the fourth quarter happened.
Footwork. Touch. Range. Yes, one of those was a stumbling, bumbling toss-in. And absolutely yes, it was just a preseason game against the Magic. But this is a skillset you want to see. Bennett is clearly out of shape, but in reality, the pounds he's carrying could be really helpful. He was a lot to handle in the post during this stretch, and that's against a pretty beefy frontline the Magic happens to have (one of their few strengths). There's some value in letting the big man eat.
