Mavericks part ways with executive Gersson Rosas soon after hiring

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

CBSSports.com's Ken Berger has confirmed reports that Gersson Rosas has been let go from his general manager position with the Dallas Mavericks just three months after being hired.

Rosas spent several years helping the Rockets' thinktank of a front office in player development and oversaw the management of the Rockets' D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Vipers have been one of the most successful D-League teams not only in terms of winning percentage, but in helping mold quality players. Most young players spend time in RGV and benefit from the experience. Houston is in what's called a hybrid relationship with the Vipers in which they own and manage the basketball operations department.

Dallas has a similar set up with the Texas Legends.

It's certainly odd that someone like Rosas would part ways so soon after arriving. You have to think there's more to this story.
