Rockets' Beverley out 10-14 days

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Patrick Beverley won the Rockets starting point guard spot, but will have to give it back, at least for a little while.

The team announced Beverley will miss 10-14 days because of a partial tear in a muscle in his midsection.

Jeremy Lin will take over as the starter and Aaron Brooks will step in to assume backup point guarding duties.

Beverley, 25, scored five points in 10 minutes in the Rockets' opener against the Bobcats.
