Brandon Jennings will play for the Pistons Sunday but not start

The Detroit Pistons made a big splash in free agency this past summer when they signed Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith to a big deal and pulled off a sign-and-trade for Brandon Jennings. The new duo was going to pair with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond in an attempt to create a pretty fearsome foursome. The goal was to be an incredibly athletic team that dominated the paint on both ends of the floor.

The Pistons haven't had the opportunity to see their team at full strength in the first couple games due to an impacted wisdom tooth that kept Jennings out of action for a few weeks. That should change Sunday when Jennings is expected to make his Pistons regular season debut. Keith Langlois of Pistons.com tweeted out that Jennings will play but the team is going with the same starting lineup as the first two games.

That means Will Bynum, Chauncey Billups, Josh Smith, Greg Monroe, and Andre Drummond will start for the Pistons and Jennings will probably be one of the first players off the bench. You can also expect one of the five guards expected to be in the rotation to get their minutes cut back, since it's too hard to fit all of those guys in on the court in a 48-minute game. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is probably the one to get knocked out of the rotation, instead of Rodney Stuckey.

Jennings gets to start showing his promise for being more of a playmaking point guard and less of a shot-chucker. He claimed during the summer that he was forced to try to bail out the Bucks' offense throughout his four years with Milwaukee, but he'd try to bring lob city to the Pistons. Sunday night, we get to see him try.
