Eye on Basketball Podcast: Playing young guys, Clippers offense

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Matt Moore joins me today to figure out why these young guys in Milwaukee are failing to get playing time. Larry Sanders, John Henson, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are not getting time because Larry Drew is opting to go with the veterans in what's turning out to be a very Milwaukee Bucks type of move. Antetokounmpo is a rookie so maybe it's acceptable to have him earn his playing time over the veteran options, but haven't Sanders and Henson done enough to get time? What is the philosophy behind rewarding the veterans that know how to practice better? Shouldn't the contract of Sanders give him the opportunity to play through his struggles?

How impressive were the Los Angeles Clippers on offense Monday night in their victory over the Houston Rockets? Chris Paul has this team moving like a well-oiled, fast pace machine. They have so many weapons on offense that it almost seems unfair. But should they be worried about their defense? How good does it have to be for them to contend for a title? Can it be average but the Clippers still get stops at the end of games? Would that be enough to take some of the worry out of that end of the floor?

We discuss all of that, plus the James Dolan warpath, the greatness of the Golden State Warriors, and we preview tonight's games.
