The 15,000 or so that showed up at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia last week probably thought they were there to see Kyrie Irving, or to actually see Andrew Bynum play a basketball game.
No, they were really there to see Joey Crawford.
In the third quarter of the 76ers-Cavaliers game last week, there was something that needed mopping near the sideline as the Sixers prepared to inbound the ball. So Crawford called for a ball boy to come over and soak it up with a mop.
First, the ball boy didn't hustle to the right spot (you can hear Crawford yell, "NO! HERE!"). Strike one. Then apparently he didn't do good enough of a job. Strike two. So he blows his whistle -- because Joey loves to blow his whistle -- and calls for reinforcements. All while making sure the first kid knows he wasn't up to par with his mopping.
Anyone wish Joey Crawford was their dad? No?
