“We will not tolerate or condone this type of behavior,” general manager Rob Hennigan said in a statement. “As we have stated repeatedly, when a player puts on an Orlando Magic uniform, he is representing something much greater than himself. We expect our players to uphold a certain standard of conduct and character at all times."
Davis lost his temper at an Orlando hotel, grabbing the desk clerk's keyboard and throwing it as he stormed out of the room. The incident was caught on the hotel's security camera.
Davis apologized on Twitter on Tuesday saying, "In regards to the incident that occurred on Friday night, I want to sincerely apologize for my actions. There is no excuse for what I did. I was obviously wrong and I take full responsibility. I apologize to the Magic, my fans and the city of Orlando."
Davis is currently sidelined with an injury and has not yet appeared for the Magic this season. The team says it has no further comment at this time.
