Nets' Paul Pierce doubtful (hand) against Memphis

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Nets are having a rough time. And it doesn't appear to be getting any better as Paul Pierce is unlikely to play Saturday.

Pierce is dealing with a bruised right hand.

Pierce likely joins Deron Williams (ankle), Andrei Kirilenko (back) and Jason Terry (knee) as Nets that are out. Brook Lopez, who has missed a few games, played Friday and is expected to be available again, along with Kevin Garnett who missed Friday's game.

Alan Anderson is anticipated to start in place of Pierce.

Pierce, 36, is averaging just 12.4 points on just 36.8 percent shooting in 15 games this season.
