It was a tough night for Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on the court, but in the big picture they had a lot to be happy about. Bryant finished with just nine points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field, 5-of-7 shooting from the free throw line, and four assists. He also had eight rebounds and eight turnovers in his return.
While Bryant looked rusty and out of rhythm with quite a few plays on the court, we still saw flashes of his feel for the game. He took much more of a facilitator role when he was on the court and didn't really let the shots fly outside of a couple attempts to see if it would just magically come back to him. Overall, it was a bit of an anticlimactic return but the hope is there for the Lakers and their fans.
