J.J. Redick to return sooner than expected?

By Royce Young | NBA writer

The Clippers have missed J.J. Redick's shooting and spacing ability since he went out with a broken hand on Nov. 29.

But good news for them as he could be returning sooner than expected, according to ESPNLA.com.

Redick's original timetable had him at 6-8 weeks, placing a return likely in early February. But he's reportedly targeting Jan. 15 for a return, placing him right at six weeks out.

The Clippers have struggled in replacing Redick as Doc Rivers tried Willie Green for seven games who was mostly ineffective. So Rivers went with sixth man Jamal Crawford most recently to try and find a little better rhythm.

Redick, who was the 2-guard starter, was off to a great start averaging 15.8 points while shooting 35.9 percent from 3 in the 17 games he appeared in this season. So having him back will be a big boost for the Clippers.
